SS 2013 RTW.

Burberry Prorsum, LFW, SS 2013 RTW

Dries Van Noten, PFW, SS 2013 RTW

There were many collections that I really loved, but so far these are the only two that I ended up making collages for. These two collections are almost antithesis of each other.  While the Burberry Prorsum collection to me was decadent, British and ladylike the Dries Van Noten show had this light, easy menswear/womenswear feel. I loved both. I wanted everything from the Dries show for daytime and everything Burberry for when you want to feel a little fancy.

Oscar de la Renta. NYFW.

Images: WWD (Giovanni Giannoni)

So this happened today. Asldfkjsflkjlthlss.

In case somebody reads this and cares, we're obviously a pretty lazy bunch - example...remember how I was going to cover NYFW last time and I did, remember how all of sudden I quit out of the blue so close to the finish line and didn't even talk about the awesomeness that was the Marc Jacobs Fall 2012 collection...the point of this reminder is that don't expect more coverage/discussion on this fashion week. There might be, there might not. Obviously you're waiting with bated breath, holding a hand over your heart, for the next update (imagine sarcasm font).

Untill next time.

nyfw. day 4. part 2.

Prabal Gurung
Flares. Yes. Cape. Yes. Insect Button. Yes.
It's a rainbow in a dress. But in a good way.
Red carpet.
Hnnng.
For the love of god. Zoe Saldana should wear this.
When I first looked at this collection I gawked at it like I gawk at the couture collections. I was enamored. I still am, but once the haze wore off I didn't like some of the sleeves and there were some ruffles I didn't appreciate. These looks on the top are my absolute favorites and I really hope someone wears this stuff on the red carpet. Totally want to to see Sonam Kapoor wear the last dress. Also, yeh for insect jewelry!

Monique Lhuillier
I don't wear red, but if I did and was of course a more glamorous version of myself I totally would, possibly in the future when I'm famous.
That jacket.
It would be cool to see Blake Lively wear this.
This beginning of this collection didn't inspire as much enthusiasm as the end, for obvious reasons. I really do like the grander vision of fashion. All of these pieces would be perfect for the red carpet and I totally imagined the last gown on Penelope Cruz when I saw this.

Altuzarra
Printed frickin' jodhpurs (even if slimmed down). Somebody rock this for me.
The skirt. The weave, the tassels and the medallions.
Aaand there's a black one and all those tassels!
Texture. Print.
Pattern. Green.
It's like a gypsy-pirate-sailor girl.

A lot of people loved this collection, I love this collection. People have their reasons, whatever they may be. Mine was the gypsy theme. Altuzarra chose Corto Maltese, the protagonist of an adult French comic from the sixties and seventies, as his starting point. "He was a sailor, his mom was a gypsy, and his dad was Venetian." You know how much we love Gipsies, I know if A hasn't seen this collection, once she does...she'll love it - just because of the inspiration. Now only if we could get one of the dresses (last two pictures) and redo that shoot.

Oh my Elie.

At every couture show,  I know I can count on Elie Saab to present the most ethereal gowns. As usual I'm yearning for all the angelic dresses but I found my favorites, as seen above, after admiring the collection for about an hour. Customarily you would see me drooling all over the long gowns, but I liked the shorter ones as well...maybe since it's Summer I'm being influenced by the weather or maybe it's because the dresses are everything I want...you know whatever... :) Couture collections always leave me in awe because of the astounding details. This collection's intricate beading and crystals are what make me long for all of his gowns. My wish is to have Elie Saab design my wedding dress, whenever that happens, because Mr. Saab is a man who knows how to design a remarkable gown.
